Robey Hall is the third Habita hotel north of the border, after New York’s Hotel Americano and Chicago’s original Robey. And it’s another effortlessly hip boutique hotel in the Grupo Habita mold, one that similarly extends itself to a wider audience than the typical luxury boutique. Located in Wicker Park, one of the city’s hippest neighborhoods, this renovated early-1900s warehouse goes long on rough-edged historical patina and accessible, inclusive charm.

It’s got plenty of traditional double rooms, and even some singles as well, but Robey Hall is perhaps most notable for its bigger rooms, some of which sleep four on a pair of queen beds or a queen and a twin-size bunk bed. They’re perfect for larger parties, traveling bands, or just for spreading out a bit.

H!Bar, the lobby lounge, is a flexible space serving beer, cocktails, and Metric coffee, with occasional live music and other events. And for a more substantial meal, check out the modern American fare at the nearby Cafe Robey, attached to the neighboring sister hotel. Remember, though, that you’re in Chicago, one of the best dining cities in America — and that you can check out one of the hotel’s tokyobike bicycles for help in getting around on your own.
