现代设计 和 安静
The Japanese artist and hotelier Shouya Grigg is a collector — not only of art, but of architecture. For his latest project, Shiguchi, he relocated a series of kominka, or traditional wooden farmhouses, to a quiet valley outside the ski resort of Niseko. Their A-frame structures have remained more or less the same, carefully taken apart and reassembled using an old Japanese technique wherein the hand-carved timber beams are fit together without the use of nails. But inside, they’re modern and minimalist, with private onsen baths, curated libraries, and terraces overlooking the surrounding landscape. Each is named for a natural element — chi (earth), sui (water), ka (fire), fu (wind), and ku (void or spirit) — and all showcase pieces from Grigg’s personal art collection. An elegant wood-lined spa offers hot spring-fed baths, and seasonally inspired dishes and Hokkaido wines are served with mountain views in the restaurant.
