Founded in 1848, Lou Wai Lou is an institution when it comes to traditional Hangzhou cuisine, and is renowned both locally and overseas. Its lakeside location means it is an excellent place to take in the splendid views. Famous specialities include Xihu sweet vinegar fish with your choice of grass carp or marble goby; Mrs Song’s fish soup – spicy, sour and tasty; and sautéed river shrimps with Longjing tea.
