International visitors to Peru focus on the mountains in the south, but the northern coast has charms all its own — amply evident from the vantage point of Arennas Máncora. It’s reminiscent of some of the best beach resorts in Thailand, with its own private beach, a stylish poolside bar, and a soothing modernist aesthetic in natural materials and neutral tones. Some of its rooms and suites face the gardens, others the sea, and the pool villas are particularly lavish. With 22 units it never feels busy, and the restaurant, naturally, makes the most of the fresh seafood of Máncora’s seaside setting.
