The down sides of Cancún — in short, that it’s crowded, tacky, and overbuilt — don’t seem to apply when you’re within the expansive perimeter of this luxe 173-room resort. It’s relatively secluded, sharing a substantial parcel of land with the nearby Hilton Cancun, and it’s nothing if not tasteful. Rooms and suites are spacious and stylish, without a hint of tropical kitsch, and they’re exceedingly well furnished, easily the equal of any urban luxury hotel. The spa is inspired by Maya culture and rituals, the restaurants by authentic Mexican flavors, and the brand’s signature service is on display throughout.
