Less than an hour’s drive from the riads and luxury resorts of Marrakech, in the rocky Agafay desert at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, is a very different kind of hotel: Inara Camp, a collection of impressively plush safari-style tents surrounding a swimming-pool oasis in what feels like the exact middle of nowhere. The aesthetic, necessarily, differs from its sub-Saharan cousins, and is tailored to its location and its Berber inspiration. But the concept, and the effect, is the same as any luxury tented camp: provide as much comfort as possible while still fully immersing guests in the natural environment.

Each of the 18 tents includes a king bed, a living room, and an en-suite bathroom, complete with a hot shower, as well as a woodburning stove to stay warm during chilly desert nights. The interiors, by Vincent Jaquet, combine local traditions with a keen contemporary decorator’s eye. Meals are prepared by the hotel’s chef from locally sourced ingredients and served in the camp’s open-air dining lounge. And by day, the pool isn’t the only attraction; activities include horseback rides, mountain biking, trekking, and waterborne excursions on a nearby lake.

A new and wonderful experience. Everything was great – easy communication with the hotel before arrival, well-organized transfer, friendly staff, excellent activity recommendations, delicious cocktails (the mojito was perfect), comfortable room, and tasty cuisine. The authentic campgrounds and attention to detail in the interior design provide an aesthetic pleasure.

Un séjours hors du temps ! Le cadre est magnifique et reposant. Après un séjours dans le tumulte de la médina, Inara Camp est le lieu idéal pour détendre. Les repas sont excellents et variés. Nous avons eu la chance d’être à une période plus calme et du coup le côté intimiste était présent, nous avons beaucoup apprécié. Mohammed et son équipe sont d’une extrême gentillesse et aux petits soins. Un séjours idyllique à refaire !!!
