The Menjangan by LifestyleRetreats
After all, the fact that the national park is connected to the rest of Bali is mere geographic happenstance. From within Menjangan’s capacious forested grounds — not to mention the beach, along one of Bali’s finest stretches of coastline — you’d be hard pressed even to think of busy Jimbaran Bay.
Twelve rooms and two suites comprise the Monsoon Lodge, set back in the woods and oriented around a central pool. Meanwhile the villas lie just a few yards from the beach, mixing traditional architecture with simple modern interiors, and thoughtful touches like outdoor baths. And if you’re living particularly large there’s always the Menjangan Residence, a three-bedroom estate with butler service and views of Bayun Bay.
Activities tend to the appropriately pastoral; clubbing is off the agenda, though a pair of restaurants are good for a bit of socializing. The beach is an obvious draw, as is the park, a wonderland for nature lovers, especially birdwatchers. Meanwhile the local snorkeling, diving and sea kayaking are among Bali’s finest.
How to get there:
Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is located approximately 105.5 miles from The Menjangan. Transfers (each way) for a maximum of four passengers can be arranged for approximately $75/car (excluding 21% tax & service charge).
