Stonefield Estate Resort
Built on the grounds of an old plantation house, Stonefield has that kind of patinated charm that’s impossible to fake; the cottages are stocked with hand-crafted furnishings, and few intrusive modern conveniences — there’s no air conditioning (it’s not needed) and phones and televisions are largely absent. The villas do, however, have astonishing views of Petit Piton, and some have ocean views to boot. Full kitchens are standard, as are verandas, and the most extravagant accommodations come with outdoor showers and private pools.
The resort’s social life centers around the pool terrace, with its far-ranging views. Here you’ll find the Mango Tree restaurant, a local favorite, and the Bamboo Bar, serving cocktails against the backdrop of the Caribbean sunset. Water sports, nature walks, even Piton climbing expeditions can be arranged, and the hotel shuttle runs not only down to the beach but to the town of Soufrière as well — but when you want to be alone, there are few places in the Caribbean more private than Stonefield’s cottages.
Please note: Stonefield Estate is an adults-only resort, geared primarily to couples on romantic getaways or those looking for peace and quiet. The resort does not accept children under the age of 17.
How to get there:
Stonefield Estate Resort is approximately 45 minutes by car from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) and 70 minutes by car from George F.L. Charles Airport (SLU). Airport transfers for couples can be arranged for approximately $80 USD each way for the former and $100 USD each way for the latter.

Location and views
Amazing views. Good location. Spacious rooms and private space. The hotel restaurant has a lovely view as well and the space is charming.
Beautiful hotel near the south coast attractions in St. Lucia. Very private spaces - we stayed in the Oleander villa. Gorgeous view of Petit Piton from the hammock. Great plunge pool to cool off after doing some day hiking. Great kitchen facilities to cook some meals in. The bedroom was so nice, with a high four poster bed and great air-conditioning. The outdoor shower was awesome! Everyone that we came across that worked there was super helpful and friendly.
