It’s set on what might be the finest beach on the island of Zante, or Zakynthos, on the Ionian side of Greece. And while this island is no stranger to the buzz of youth-market tourism, from within the grounds of Domes Aulūs Zante you’ll hear nothing of it — you might as well be on an entirely private island.
Visually, the style is luxe and subtle, unmistakably Greek but entirely without kitsch; this is the state of the art in high-end resort design, all warm neutrals and touchable textures, tasteful to the core. It’s a family-friendly resort but not a families-only retreat — accommodations range from romantic “cocoons,” “nests,” and “retreats” all the way up to three-bedroom suites. Restaurants include Greek meze, an Italian trattoria, and more; and activities run the gamut from days by the poolside or on the beach to more conservation-minded or culturally oriented day trips, tours, and experiences.
