The rooms start out plenty large and only expand from there; the bigger and better ones come with particularly impressive views from their terraces or balconies. All have beautiful spa-like bathrooms decorated in cerulean blue tile, and some of them come with private pools or share a pool that runs the length of the building. There’s an impressive spa, featuring another pool as well as a thermal circuit and treatment rooms. The most spectacular space, however, might just be the rooftop, home to one more swimming pool, a field of lounge chairs with a view out to sea, a cocktail bar, and the stylish Restaurant El Vicenç — whose highly regarded chef, Santi Taura, also oversees the ground-floor Bistró U Mayol.

Great stay with our five-year-old (not sure why the hotel is labeled as adults-only), loved Cala Vincenc beach.
