Contemporary Classic & Lively
That’s the Professional Golfers’ Association, in case you were wondering — which goes a long way towards explaining why the PGA National Resort, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, has not one or two but six championship golf courses. Of course, if that were all there was to it, you wouldn’t be reading about it here. But it just so happens that this 339-room luxury resort takes its hospitality as seriously as it does its golf, adding a 40,000-square-foot spa, a generous handful of restaurants and bars, and a very substantial racquet club to its offerings.

The rooms, suites, and cottages are perhaps surprisingly stylish, full of graphic motifs and decorated in a style that feels subtly Parisian. The comforts, naturally, are first-rate, and include lavish spa-like bathrooms, and nine pools dot the property, from the enormous central pool to the satellite pools surrounding the spa. And the restaurants go far beyond ordinary country-club fare, ranging from the Butcher’s Club, a midcentury-style steakhouse, to the Southern-style Honeybelle and the nostalgic Birdie’s Diner — plus a chocolate shop, and a fast-casual market and café.
