Casa Pueblo Tulum
The size is modest: just 16 rooms ringing an atrium planted with local trees. There’s a small salt-water swimming pool as well as an open-kitchen restaurant, both of which stay active enough to feel lively but intimate enough to feel like a refuge from the city outside. And that goes double for the rooms: with mattresses by Mexican prestige brand Luuna as well as high-end Parachute Home linens they’re nothing if not restful, and the visual design, by Derek Klein, Mike Moser, and Jaime Aramburu, only accentuates that sense of calm. It’s still Tulum — meaning there’s plenty of exploring to do by day, and trouble to get up to by night — it’s just a more stylish version than we’ve seen to date.

The atmosphere and the hospitality of the employees

Not much.

Good design and location. Rooms were really nice and minimalist, which is what we were going for. Public spaces were good, and the bar and restaurant were also good. Staff was friendly and generally outgoing.
