Between the Seine and the Bois de Boulogne, in the relatively distant 16th, the Hôtel Botaniste finds space for a degree of tranquility that’s hard to find in more central Parisian neighborhoods. This is also a surprisingly verdant place, in keeping with the name; a lovely private garden connects the hotel’s two buildings. The rooms are chic in a low-key, somewhat bohemian way, and the comforts are thoughtful if not lavish. An impressive breakfast is served in the dining room or picnic-style in the garden, and light fare is available in the lounge all day long.
