Quiet, comfortable, beautifully appointed with great attention to details. Close to everything but far enough to be away from the crowds. Will definitely recommend it to friends.
The hotel is great, although not to the level of a 5-star hotel. Rooms are spacious and nicely laid out. Central localtion and easy to walk everywhere to discover Antwerp. My main issues were 1) Slowness of service at check-in. There were multiple employees present but only one who could check people in. My room was not ready so I checked in, waited, and came back. I was never notified when the room was ready. When I went back, I had to again wait in line and go through passport check, signatures etc. There was no orientation to the hotel services at all. This process was quite disappointing. Staff were otherwise very helpful for the rest of the stay. 2) Noise at night. This was horrible and I did not sleep at night for 4 night stay. There were people (I think students) making horrible loud noise from midnight to 4:30-5am every night in the streets. Enough to not be able to sleep even with earplugs. I mentioned it at the desk. They offered to change room, though friends in rooms inside the hotel courtyard were experiencing the same level of noise. They said they would pass the word to the night shift. It continued despite this. I understand this is not fully within the hotel's control, though night security could potentially intervene. This was quite sad because it ruined an otherwise lovely stay in a great hotel. It is enough for me not wanting to recommend staying there.
