The name, O Filho da Mãe (“The Mother’s Son”), is a tribute to the owner’s mother — as one might guess! This small, welcoming space was carefully designed by the owner himself who, after leaving the world of art and architecture, ventured into his new passion: gastronomy. Set on one of Braga’s picturesque streets near the city’s historic centre, the restaurant offers an innovative proposal with flavours inspired by South America, paying true tribute to tropical tastes. Dishes of wild tiger prawn served with coconut fried rice, saffron and ginger, and fresh handmade pastas such as Capelletti stuffed with blue cheese and sun‑dried tomato with cashew nut and fried sage, are among the stars of the à la carte menu, alongside tempting desserts like the unmissable Brownie with salted caramel and pecans!
