Doric Eco Boutique Resort & Spa is a Sicilian escape with a bit of a twist, one that’s hinted at by the first word of the name. (The remainder is straightforward, and accurate.) Doric is the architectural style displayed by the seven ruined structures of the UNESCO-listed Valley of the Temples, which stands on the outskirts of Agrigento, mere minutes away. And Doric Eco Boutique Resort & Spa, from whose rooms and suites the Temple of Juno is visible, offers stylish relaxation with this unique scene as a backdrop.
The rooms and suites are crisp and contemporary, and furnished with outdoor lounge space, featuring either plunge pools, hot tubs, or Jacuzzis. For those of a traditional bent, a 19th-century farmhouse is available as well, and sleeps up to 8. Among the resort amenities are a spa and wellness center and a gym with a view, as well as a shop selling agricultural products from the Doric farm. And the restaurant is a versatile one, serving everything from a hearty Sicilian breakfast to a dinner artfully composed from local ingredients.
