Live Update: 4 Brand-New Restaurants Listed In The MICHELIN Guide Thailand – April 2022

The MICHELIN Guide Inspectors share their monthly favourites via live updates.

MICHELIN Guide Inspectors spend all year on the road uncovering the best restaurants to recommend—and what they've found is too good to keep a secret. Whet your appetite with a sneak peek of the 2023 MICHELIN Guide Thailand; Bib Gourmands and Stars will be announced at the end of the year.

Published on the last Wednesday of every month, the restaurants will be featured both on the website and the MICHELIN Guide application. How will you spot the new additions? They will be highlighted with a ‘New’ symbol. Some of these newly recommended establishments will go on to earn distinctions at the MICHELIN Star Revelation ceremony, so why not give them a try and see which ones you would add to your shortlist?

Antito, Bangkok
Welcome to Amerigo Sesti’s world! Forged out of vibrant flavours and colours on the 14th floor of Eastin Grand Sathorn, the chef’s restaurant-bar reveals his creative take on childhood favourites from Northern Italy and across the country. The dining room only adds more flair with its comfy furniture, pop art and city views. For a fine culinary introduction, try the signature overnight-braised pork collar marinated in red wine. Chef Deepanker Khosla says of his Haoma team, "We grow what we cook, we cook what we love.” And what is that? Sustainable, seasonal, local ingredients sourced from farmers, breeders, fisherfolk and the restaurant’s own garden. They’re turned into delicious, beautifully plated neo-Indian dishes, in à la carte and seasonal tasting menus (including a vegetarian one). It all happens in a Nordic-style dining room where even the decor includes unused plant parts.

Maze, Bangkok
Opened in 2020 by Top Chef Thailand finalist Chef May Thongthong, this fine dining restaurant serves two set menus: Northern Thai Creations and Seasonal Creative. The first explores Chef May’s Lanna heritage, while the second plays with European techniques and flavours. The contemporary décor and lighting set the stage for the well-presented dishes. The main dining room includes an open-bar kitchen and counter seating. Above it, a private room seats 10.

Baan Tepa, Bangkok
Before opening Baan Tepa, Chef Chudaree “Tam” Debhakam worked as sous chef at the famed Blue Hill at Stone Barns in New York. Here, she brings the farm-to-table idea to her beautifully presented contemporary Thai tasting menu, made with seasonal ingredients sourced from sustainably minded producers and her own backyard. To realise her vision, she converted her grandma’s classic two-storey house into an urban food space that elegantly complements the fine cuisine.
