It’s an accident of history, rather than a new brand collaboration, that gives the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon its ultra-distinguished name, but it’s one that paints an accurate picture; this is indeed at the top of the class in the Portuguese capital when it comes to old-world luxury hotels. The interiors are Louis XVI-meets–Art Deco, and the amenities, both in-room and out, are absolutely first-rate; there’s a spa, an indoor and outdoor pool, and even a rooftop running track. There are hipper hotels in town, but none that can boast a restaurant like the Michelin-starred Cura or the exquisite Nikkei-inspired O Japonês.
