Modern Design & Happening
In the heart of the Minneapolis’s historic Warehouse District, the Hewing Hotel is a renovated farm equipment warehouse and showroom dating to 1897; with tracks running from the basement, trains could take sold equipment all over the Midwest. Now, born again as boutique lodge, the Hewing’s impressive timber beams and retro fixtures evince a kind of industrial chic that places one firmly in the Chicago Commercial architectural style of the surrounding neighborhood. Rooms are decorated in rich, dusky hues, and furnished in a fitting mid-century modern style. A rooftop terrace includes a sauna, to be enjoyed during Minnesotan winters, as well as a bar offering small plates and a skyline view. Tullibee, the Hewing’s dining room, offers locally sourced New American.
