Some of the best hotels on Corsica aren’t on the beach, but tucked into the hills that rise up along the coastline. Take Les Regalia, set on a wooded estate overlooking the sea. There’s much to admire about the elegant family-run hotel, from the sustainable design employing local stone and recycled wood to a secret garden-style cocktail bar framed by olive groves. But with a location like this, it’s all about sweeping water views — from the restaurant’s terrace and the striking infinity-edge pool, and of course, from many rooms.
The best suites have glass-walled terraces, postcard-like bay vistas, and spa-like bathrooms with sculptural soaking tubs designed by Philippe Starck, but even the simplest rooms are luxurious, with floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies facing Mediterranean gardens. It’s just a quick stroll down to sea level and the hotel’s private beach club, and a slightly longer walk into the harbor town of Porto-Vecchio.
