Few hotels anywhere are as aptly named as the Hôtel Splendide Royal Paris. Its neighborhood places it close to some major landmarks, as well as some of the city’s most luxurious palace hotels. But this is less a palace than an ultra-discreet semi-private residence, whose emerald-green façade conceals a mere 12 suites in a style that takes its inspiration not from boutique hotels but from an idealized vision of classic Parisian luxury.
And while at this size it may not have space for certain grand-hotel facilities, the Splendide Royal’s service is cut from the same cloth as the palace hotels — as are the in-room comforts, from the junior suites on up to the 105-square meter family suites. Downstairs is Tosca, an upscale Mediterranean restaurant that’s also home to the cozy Loggia Bar, where guests sip drinks in front of the fireplace.
