Tourism isn’t new to the spectacular Bodrum Peninsula, but Kaplankaya, on the other side of the bay another hour and a half up the coast, was hardly on the map before this stunning purpose-built resort broke ground on a hillside overlooking the Aegean. If you know the Six Senses brand you know you’re in for something lavish, but even by the standards of its siblings, Six Senses Kaplankaya is special.
Its low-slung buildings are modern, but more subtle than monumental; its interiors are richly adorned with authentically Turkish visual references, providing an unmistakable sense of place. Within these buildings are some 75 rooms and suites, with an additional 66 villas standing on the ridge for optimal views. At all levels they’re spacious, luxe, and combine clean, uncluttered layouts with warm, organic colors and textures.
