The Feathers Hotel dates back to the 17th century and was once home to a sanatorium. Now it lives on as Woodstock’s most idiosyncratic stay. The layout is delightfully odd (mind the staircases), but the details are intentional: paneled walls, velvet armchairs, and brass-finished bathrooms. Upstairs, comfortable rooms hide behind crooked corridors and sloping ceilings. Downstairs, locals linger over delicious English plates and proper drinks. It is a countryside classic, with a knowing wink.
