Set high on seaside cliffs near the fishing village of Carvoeiro, the Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort has occupied an enviable spot on Portugal’s sunny southern coast for years. But it wasn’t until its 2018 renovation that this landmark was transformed into one of the region’s largest and most luxurious resorts.
Rooms are airy and bright, outfitted in pale wood and shades of white, ivory, and aquamarine, and many have private balconies overlooking the Atlantic. High-level suites have particularly dramatic views from their glass-walled terraces with open-air Jacuzzis. Highlights include sparkling-blue indoor and outdoor pools, an elegant spa, and six restaurants and bars, including the rooftop Sky Bar Carvoeiro — a must at sunset for sweeping views over the rugged bluffs and sandy beach below.
