Silk n Cotton

Petraki 16, Athens, Greece
City Center
5 Rooms
Contemporary Classic & Quiet
It should be clear from the name alone that Silk n’ Cotton differs from the typical Athenian hotel. It turns out the concept is simple enough: this family-owned and -operated apartment-style boutique hotel is an extension of the ground-floor fabric store with which it shares its 1920s Art Deco edifice. And its photogenic spaces prove that its proprietors have an equally keen eye for furniture and interior design.

Each of the five apartments is named for a different variety of fabric, and though the design style is consistent, each one is unique. (Silk and cotton are represented, as are velvet, linen and cashmere.) Full kitchens and laundry facilities are included, and there’s a rooftop terrace for guest use. That’s the extent of the common spaces, so for a restaurant or café you’ll hit the streets; the location, however, is just about as central as can be, and places all the best of Athens right at your feet.
