Sitting beneath the Zugspitze in the Austrian village of Ehrwald, this 20-suite retreat skips screens and distractions in favor of sheepskin socks, mountain views, and wood-lined spaces designed to slow you down. Each suite has floor-to-ceiling windows, some with saunas, soaking tubs, or terraces made for stargazing. Meals are cooked over an open fire using local ingredients, and the spa’s three heated pools, each facing a different peak, offer an elemental kind of luxury. Nature leads here; everything else follows.
