This former pop-up has settled in at Swoop House and Garden, an East Austin 1930s bungalow loaded with charm. Inside this space with winsome vintage touches, the team crafts a tasting menu with an informal ease. The handful of courses are all ingredient driven and Italian inspired, and while the offerings change every few weeks, dishes like grilled potatoes with a corn hollandaise, trout roe and pickled Anaheim peppers or seared swordfish illustrate their focused flair. Olive oil cake with sherry-soaked peaches and whipped ricotta is a nice way to end the meal. Even sweeter? The bill, offering a surprisingly good value.
