Dating back to 1624, this venerable old building in the centre of Gmunden used to be an inn and is now a boutique hotel and restaurant. Chef Christoph Parzer expertly transforms fresh ingredients into flavoursome dishes that range from regional specialities to modern international cuisine. This interesting mix is presented in the form of an appealing à la carte selection including steaks and Alpine sushi, and the "AURUM" fine dining menu served in the evening. The interior impresses with its attractive blend of traditional elements – such as a tiled oven, a timber ceiling and brick vaulting – and modern touches (artwork and clean lines). Pretty terrace in the courtyard. Austria is particularly well represented when it comes to the wines.
