Traditional Portuguese details — handmade porcelain vases, landscape paintings in gilded frames, Moorish-inspired woodwork — add local character to the sultry ground-level living room, and rooms are sophisticated, with moody color palettes, geometric patterns, and retro-inspired furniture. Those in the original building are cozy and compact, while many rooms in the newer wing have private balconies and freestanding cast iron tubs.
