Lake Tisza might be second to Lake Balaton in terms of size and popularity, but that’s exactly why it’s worth a visit. The man-made reservoir offers similar sights and experiences but without quite the same number of crowds, from spotting the rare bird species that live here to cycling along the 70-kilometre bike path that follows the edge of the lake. Natur Lodge Tiszafüred respects these natural surroundings with just two quiet wood cabins, each with its own outdoor sauna and jacuzzi as a pleasant way to immerse you in the outdoors. And so you can switch off, quite literally, each cabin comes with a selection of board games and an acoustic guitar, although don’t worry, there’s WiFi and Netflix too.
