GamlaVærket began life in 1783 as Norway’s first brick factory, in what would become the industrial heart of Sandnes. The original walls still stand, now wrapped around 55 one-of-a-kind rooms, each with handpicked furniture, vintage details, and the occasional line of poetry on the wall. Downstairs, the restaurant serves up honest, seasonal Norwegian fare. Just a minute from the train station and right along the charming Langgata pedestrian street, it is a stay that feels deeply Norwegian.
