This small, very friendly restaurant offers a successful mix of tradition (the setting is an old house in the centre of Comano), minimalist furnishings and modern cuisine. In the evening, enjoy a surprise tasting menu (five or seven courses) which is almost entirely vegetarian, with the option of choosing your main course. 95% of the ingredients are organic and the owner-chef will be happy to discuss his philosophy on organic food during the course of your meal. The elegant, original dishes include options such as beef wellington with kohlrabi, chimichurri and mushrooms, accompanied by artisanal wines from Switzerland and further afield.
"Organic vegetables take centre stage in our cooking, and their seasonality is very important. Meat, which we obtain in the form of whole animals from small-scale farmers in the canton of Ticino, merely plays a supporting role. Our philosophy is clearly communicated and even the tables in the restaurant are made of chestnut wood from Ticino."
