Upon its advent the 1 Hotels brand quickly established what feels like a whole new category: the sustainable luxury hotel. It’s a good fit for a city as green as Seattle, and 1 Hotel Seattle stands right in the high-tech heart of the city, straddling the border between Downtown and South Lake Union.
In typical 1 Hotels style there’s as much nature inside as out, with a two-story green wall in the lobby and living plants in the rooms and suites. The rooms feel modern but warm, full of organic materials and textures, and while the comforts are first-rate, they’re anything but ostentatious.
Other offerings are similarly forward-looking: the Field House Gym features state-of-the-art equipment and programming, including trainers, and the hotel’s Lobby Farmstand brings fresh produce to guests. Meanwhile La Loba, the hotel’s Barcelona-inspired restaurant, features the cooking of a James Beard–nominated chef.
