It’s housed in a pair of historic buildings: an Art Nouveau–style structure, formerly the headquarters of the university’s student union, is home to the elegant reception and lobby bar, while the landmark next door, once the oldest hotel in Helsinki, was smartly restored, its interiors shaped into sleek rooms and suites with modern Scandinavian décor. Glamorous architectural details include extra-high ceilings and arching windows overlooking the train station across the street, but the best views at the NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa are from Kupoli, the rooftop bar atop the hotel’s dome-shaped tower.
