Many luxury hotels in Marrakech’s medina are housed in traditional riads, but Riad Nyla Wellness & Spa has the unusual distinction of occupying two. They’re located side by side, connected by a secret passage on the rooftop — which is also where you’ll find a gorgeous greenery-framed terrace with a decorative fireplace and an ethereal swimming pool lined in white stone.
The rest of the hotel, dreamt up by Italian architect Mattia Siviero and interior designer Corinne Dressler, is just as visually striking. Rooms are minimalist by local standards, outfitted in earth tones like ivory and terracotta, with polished mosaic flooring, arched doorways, and glowing pendant lights. Some overlook the central patio, which doubles as a venue for a welcome cup of mint tea or a lavish Moroccan breakfast. Completing the range of highly photogenic interiors is a subterranean spa with a modern hammam and turquoise-tiled pool.
