Jordan’s desert landscapes inspired the aesthetic of the Fairmont Amman, whose earth-toned interiors are grand in scale and filled with natural light. But the hotel’s designers, a team from Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, also took a cue from the region’s art and architecture, outfitting the airy spaces with locally sourced limestone, striking geometric patterns, and original artworks by Jordanian artists.
Rooms are elegant and spacious, with bespoke beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, and marble bathrooms stocked with Le Labo products; with fireplaces and kitchens, the suites are rather more like luxury apartments. An outdoor pool offers spectacular views over Amman’s mosques and minarets, as does the rooftop bar, while the spa, the largest in the city, features a one-of-a-kind Dead Sea plunge pool. The hotel’s sleek dining venues, including a Lebanese restaurant topped with a gorgeous stained-glass dome and an opulent tea lounge, are standouts in the upscale Abdoun district.
