From the outside the Stavrand is quaint almost beyond belief, a Twenties landmark in the storybook locale of Guerneville, California. Inside, though, the fruits of a 2021 renovation are apparent: without sacrificing its historical charm, the Stavrand’s architects have brought it subtly up to date, and the result is a warm, bohemian, slightly utopian vision of Californian life. The original inn was well known for its restaurant, and the Stavrand aims to keep the tradition alive; a quartet of chefs showcase the finest local produce from this remarkably bountiful region.
