What makes the Weisses Kreuz a rare find is not that it is still family-owned, but that it has been owned by the same family since 1871. These family ties have meant that the hotel has been carefully cared for over the years, growing from a humble village store to a local inn and now, a luxury adults-only retreat. A full facelift under the current generation has given the hotel a more modern youthful glow, with guest rooms that combine traditional Alpine wood paneling and rustic beams with minimalist furnishings and sober shades of grey.
Fine dining restaurant Mamesa serves up creative dishes that bring an Asian influence to the local produce, and with a view of the South Tyrolean Venosta Valley. The glass-fronted spa, which has been built from a local quartz rock, looks across the outdoor infinity pool and surrounding mountains and offers a complete wellbeing experience with an indoor pool, gym, yoga and meditation room, sauna, and treatments based around the relaxing properties of Alpine herbs.
