Bib Gourmand • Inspectors’ favourites for good value
25 - 50 USD
A restaurant of Poggio’s vintage could easily rest on its tourist-trap laurels—after all, its alfresco terrace has views of the Sausalito harbor that any starry-eyed visitor would long to savor. But this enduring favorite also provides plenty to enjoy on the plate, as well as a comfortable atmosphere, friendly service and a solid Italian wine selection. The menu takes some northern California detours, like the Dungeness crab salad with blood oranges and radishes. But even the most die-hard Italian would give a seal of approval to the homemade agnolotti, served in a succulent pork ragù with a dusting of parmesan. Want something a little more special? In season, they're happy to give your pasta a hefty shaving of black or white truffles.
