If the bland peach exterior of this restaurant doesn’t entice you, trust that a juicy treasure lies beneath: some of the Bay’s best dim sum offered at lunch. Skipping the carts for a made-to-order approach, the sizable menu groans with winners, including flaky, buttery baked pork buns, sautéed pea shoots delectably flavored with garlic, and one of the best egg custard tarts you’re ever likely to taste—even if you’ve visited Hong Kong. Throw in above-average tea options and a sizable vegetarian menu, and it's no wonder that this tiny gem draws legendary waits on weekend mornings. Just don't turn tail and head for the other Hong Kong Lounge further down Geary-despite their names, the two aren't affiliated, and the food isn't quite the same.
