MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

This American bistro flies a bit under the radar, but has all the fixings of a local gem. It’s exceptionally quaint and cozy; the guests are chatty; the vibe is laid-back; and the dishes flaunt a delicious interplay between ingredient quality and notable talent. For all of its decidedly homey touches however, Chef Scott Grewe is a young talent who clearly has some creative muscles to flex. Need evidence? Look no further than the tomato jam or curried cauliflower. Then dive into a mouthwatering bowl of chilled corn soup garnished with roasted poblanos and Gouda; or a fillet of bluefish, roasted to crispy-outside-tender-inside precision, and served over nutty wild rice. A deconstructed key lime pie perfectly epitomizes the inventive vision of this kitchen.
