MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Tucked amongst the mish-mash of shiny new condos and the roar of the BQE that make up this part of Williamsburg, sleek Lilia occupies an old corner auto shop. The transformation was dramatic, replete with large iron casement windows, unique tiling and contemplation-worthy artwork. Most of the dishes at Lilia ooze authenticity, made all the better by a warm, knowledgeable service staff who are happy to elaborate on details. But, look out for those pastas whipped up by Chef Missy Robbins as they could bring even the savviest of diners to their knees. Dinner might begin with cured sardines laid over a thick slice of sourdough, dotted with dill and capers; or chewy rigatoni in a chunky tomato sauce alla "diavola" humming with chili pepper and salty pecorino.
