MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

This straightforward East Village stalwart is a rustic and textbook amalgam of wood, brick, and tiles. Expect plenty of communal seating to echo the shared plates format. Peruse the menu, categorized by snacks, garden, sea, land, harvest, and sides, or go whole hog (literally) for the "feast," a curated collection of seasonal offerings served family style. If you’re not up for it, dine à la carte on a flavorful bibimbap with duck breast, confit, duck fat rice topped with a sous vide egg, and a swipe of yuzu-tinged gochujang. Leaning lighter? The sweet and spicy carrot latkes with a nutty romesco sauce are just the thing. End with the awe-inspiring Valrhona chocolate pudding—leaving a single dark chocolate cookie crumb behind is impossible.
