MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

This is a true-blue local spot, filled with creaky wood tables, a bare warehouse floor and high ceilings to balance the small and narrow but polished space. The kitchen prepares a single fixed menu of farm-to-table fare that focuses on the Mid-Atlantic region. Service is friendly and talkative, enhancing the casual ambience. Meals begin with a flurry of small bites, the best of which is the made-to-order pretzel roll. It is fluffy, soft and has its own cult following. Following this, sample larger dishes such as buttery noodles with English peas and ham, or tender and juicy braised rabbit thigh with honey, vinegar and thyme. An assortment of desserts may feature the likes of chocolate torte, strawberry macarons or peanut butter-chocolate truffles.
