MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Miami is undoubtedly a pulsating city, so to find a restaurant that oozes with warmth, intimacy and great cooking is mere icing on the cake. This L-shaped counter, manned by Chefs Pedro and Katherine Mederos, is housed behind a popular ramen bar in the even more popular Little River area. Everyone from foodies to friends will feel at home here, thanks to the wonderful sips and well-executed plates.
Diners may get going with sumac-topped, braised kabocha squash set over a purée of butternut-pumpkin seeds, as well as Hokkaido milk bread with umami-rich butter. Smoked steelhead trout sports pickled ginger for zest; while chawanmushi flaunts a global accent with chives and truffles. For dessert, milk pudding with sake gelée is virtually unmissable.
