MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Courtesy of husband-and-wife chefs Kat Hu and Justin Yi, this culinary retreat may be in an area churning with change. However, its cuisine boasts consistency, drawing inspiration from the chefs' myriad trips to Southeast Asia and South America. Their concept is to weave Asian flavors into a global repertoire of dishes using, at times, classic French techniques. The result is a delightfully diverse menu, where Japanese tempura and Navajo fry bread sit side-by-side. Inside, the white-walled dining room is stuffed with nearly as many leafy plants as it is eager patrons. The clean visual slate lets the couple's culinary imagination take center stage, from baby octopus with lollipop kale to chicken-liver mousse with Hawthorne berry gel.
