Its location at the base of the hip Hoxton means it could likely rest on its address alone, but Café Basque levels up with impressive results. The hotel's eclectic, industrial past meets an elegance from Parisian bistros at this dreamy spot. The space buzzes with electricity and it's clear that everyone is having a very good time here as they chatter over plates of French-leaning food. Shrimp smothered in French cocktail sauce and served with a perfectly creamy avocado is the essence of simple elegance, but it's the grilled duck breast with almond purée and traditional cherry confiture that is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. Finish with a slice of Basque cheesecake.
