With its mountain-lodge feel, this clubby retreat has been a favorite among Napa Valley diners since its bygone days as the Martini House. Those classic libations may have long since made way for more elaborate concoctions, but this gander retains all the charm of the goose—as well as the recipe for its justly famous mushroom soup, which could win over even the staunchest foe of fungi. Elsewhere on the menu, you'll find hearty dishes like fettuccini carbonara, a bone marrow-topped burger and fried chicken sandwich with charred jalapeño aïoli as well as delicious duck-fat fries.
