MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View
Set in the heart of downtown Redwood City, this contemporary Indian boasts great views onto the main thoroughfare it’s named for. In all likelihood though, you might be distracted by what’s on your plate as these traditional dishes are executed to precision. Begin with crispy potato-and-pea samosas that exude a nice kick of spice, before moving on to smoky butter chicken served atop basmati rice. Even the warm and flaky naan is an outstanding delight. While service is distracted, it's hard to argue with a place that has such hefty portions for such reasonable prices. Lunch specials are a steal, and the kitchen does a booming takeout business. Adventurous diners may also enjoy such fusion items as chapatti lamb tacos or Cajun-spiced chicken tikka masala.
