MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

This quirky roadhouse in the historic Olema Inn is one-of-a-kind, from the displays of branches in the light-flooded dining room to the poetic menu descriptions (“small feast of fishes,” otherwise known as mussels). But in the hands of Chef/owners and longtime Marin fixtures Daniel DeLong and Margaret Gradé, you can always expect a fine meal made with painstakingly sourced ingredients. Sip a glass of Marin-made mead by the fire; then head to the dining room, where you’ll sample dishes like Point Reyes Toma cheese “fondue,“ golden beet soup and fluffy cardamom sugar beignets with local honey and strawberries—all accompanied by excellent crusty bread. Come Saturday, there is also a prix-fixe menu, available by reservation only.
